Mariam John

Mariam John is a fellow Singaporean, along with her pianist Ian Soh and another percussionist. I caught her performance at the Esplanade @ the concourse.
She sang four songs during her 20minutes performance, namely, Candy & Flowers, Stay Behind, Unreal and Travelling Balls.

Mariam was full of expression when she sang those original songs of hers, when her whole body grooving to the jazz beat. From her facial expression to her hands and the tapping of her feet. Never did I think that I would enjoy such performance but I did. She was engaging with us audience during her song intervals and that really gave a warmth performance too.

It's really encouraging to see people striving to make it out from the little red dot, starting out from the internet first, iTunes. From this, we learn to appreciate local talents more.
